What is Kratom?

Kratom (Mitragyna Speciosa) is a plant found in the jungles of Southeast Asia and is part of the coffee family. There are more than 40 compounds and alkaloids found in the leaves including mitragynine and 7-hydroxmitragynine. The leaves of the Kratom plant have been traditionally chewed by the local people and has been a large part of their traditional culture for hundreds of years. In fact, it is thought that around 70% of the male population of Thailand uses Kratom on a daily basis.
